DAEA is an organisation which promotes nonformal adult education through collaboration, information and development. DAEA represents 32 member organisations.
Non-formal adult education enhances general and vocational knowledge and qualifications of each individual. It improves the ability and motivation to assume self-administration and responsibility and it also provides people with the necessary competences that enable each individual to take active part in society.
Non-formal adult education is based on community, equality, participatory democracy, responsibility and voluntary activity. Non-formal adult education offers time, space and the needed conditions in order to strengthen the qualifications of adults in an informal learning environment.
DAEA is financed by: Member fees, government grants and 'Dansk tipstjeneste' (pool betting).
