- Non-formal adult education or "folkeoplysning" focuses on democracy and culture |
 |
The cartoon crisis became a task and an area of opportunity for Danish adult education. DAEA (Danish Adult Education Association) therefore decided to turn focus on democratic values in Denmark. The campaign is called "Educate Democracy".
- Democratic civic rights - how did we get them?
- How is democracy implemented?
- Where to draw the borderline between freedom of expression and freedom of religion?
We must and we have the capability to deliver necessary information to prevent prejudices. We are able to contribute to the kind of dialogue which helps society move ahead. Therefore DAEA and adult education associations have initiated a prolonged effort with the title "Educate Democracy".
We focus on Danish democratic values: How do we define our values and how do we deal with diversity. The methods to be used are education, cultural contact and dialogue. |
